A Traditional Birth Companion is more than a support person; it is a sacred role that honors the wholeness of a woman’s experience. Unlike modern midwifery, which is often bound by institutional constraints, this role exists outside the system to prioritize the sovereignty of the mother.
As a companion, my work is rooted in trust, holistic care, and the belief that each woman holds the innate wisdom to guide her journey. I offer support from preconception through postpartum, creating a space where women feel safe, empowered, and connected to their choices.

From the System to Sovereignty: My Journey
My path began within the regulated birth system, where I gained firsthand experience of its limitations. I witnessed how protocols and institutional frameworks often prioritized compliance over connection, leaving women feeling disempowered and unheard during one of the most pivotal moments of their lives.
This dissonance weighed heavily on me until I met Billie Harrigan, whose wisdom and example illuminated a different path—a path rooted in sovereignty, respect, and the natural laws of birth. Inspired by her teachings and my own growing awareness, I chose to step outside the system to fully embrace the role of a Traditional Birth Companion.
This transition wasn’t just professional; it was deeply personal. It allowed me to align with my values, reconnect with the sacredness of birth, and offer care that centers the unique needs, desires, and wisdom of each woman I serve.
